When I received my diagnosis as an adult in the early 2000s, I couldn't find much information about ADHD because society didn’t accept neurodiversity.

I had so much misinformation and myths about ADHD that I couldn't research online or talk to others experiencing the same thing.

“Shame and stigma prevented me from talking about my ADHD.”

So then, even though some of my friends and family said that going to therapy was only for "crazy people," I still went to trained medical professionals and received proper treatment for my ADHD.

I've been going to therapy once a week for over 20 years! I've learned many coping strategies from talking to trained mental health professionals.

And because I'm more open about my ADHD as a lawyer, speaker, and TV legal analyst, I also started meeting people like me worldwide who are willing to share similar experiences with neurodiversity.

Now, I embrace my ADHD. I am able to show compassion to myself and others. Whenever my ADHD symptoms cause me to make mistakes, I am kinder to myself. Whenever others are less understanding of my ADHD, I am more forgiving of them and myself.

And I am most grateful that my kids call me "The Best Mom Ever!"

As a thriving ADHD Mom for over two decades, others see themselves in me and feel inspired by the possibilities available for them to thrive.
